This month I decided to compare 2 people with similar stories so we can learn a lesson from the differences.
The first is the prophet Simeon. He was an elderly man living at the temple. God told him the he would see the Messiah before he died. when he saw Jesus as an infant he was filled with joy but told no one. he just went away happy.
The other person is Anna the Prophetess. She was living in the temple like Simeon but had been there most of her life. When she encountered the Messiah she went around telling others.
While he did nothing wrong, Simeon could have been more like Anna. And we often act more like Simeon because we don’t want people to think we are strange.
